Lead Automotive Gateway Development and Virtualization Specialist

We are seeking a skilled engineer to lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments.

This role requires a strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics. Proficiency in Simulink, MATLAB, and other modeling tools is essential.

The successful candidate will have experience with HiL/SiL/CoSim environments and simulation workflows, as well as data acquisition systems and sensor/actuator hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using Simulink or equivalent tools.
  2. Architect models for seamless integration into VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments.
  3. Define and maintain interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms.
  4. Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior.
  5. Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements.
  6. Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions.
  7. Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support.
  8. Maintain traceability and version control across model updates.
  9. Coordinate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements.
  10. Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in model-based development, preferably in the automotive domain.
  3. Proficiency in Simulink, MATLAB, and other modeling tools.
  4. Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics.
  5. Experience with HiL/SiL/CoSim environments and simulation workflows.
  6. Familiarity with data acquisition systems and sensor/actuator hardware.
  7. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with vehicle calibration and its impact on model fidelity.
  2. Exposure to AUTOSAR, CAN, LIN, or other automotive communication protocols.
  3. Knowledge of change management tools (e.g., JIRA, Git, SVN).
  4. Ability to work across global teams and manage supplier interactions.
