Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Identify tooling needs with the Product Information Manager (PIM) and Costing Manager.
  • Evaluate total tooling costs, categorized into study, manufacturing, maintenance, and implementation phases.
  • Analyze requested tooling and propose suitable solutions during product/project industrialization.
  • Write functional specifications and obtain approval from Process & Manufacturing engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, EHS, and Industrial Quality representatives.
  • Prepare documented purchase requests, participate in RFQ analysis, and contribute to business awards with Sourcing.
  • Design tooling or outsource it to contractors.
  • Validate tooling designs through design reviews involving key stakeholders.
  • Validate manufactured tooling and perform operating procedures when necessary, training manufacturing teams accordingly.
  • Ensure smooth tooling implementation and first use, performing adjustments as needed.
  • Specify inspection operations, handling, and maintenance instructions.
  • Write periodic inspection sheets.
  • Other responsibilities include participating in the Alstom Tooling network, contributing to enriching the AT database of standard tooling specifications, and supporting continuous improvement actions (SWIP) in support of Production.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical education in mechanics or automation.
  • Excellent English language skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, or Plant Maintenance background with 5 years' experience, preferably in the railway industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Process & Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Familiarity with CAD and PLM tools (CATIA, DELMIA).
  • Working knowledge of Quality, EHS standards, and Ergonomics.
  • Process FMEA and QRQC expertise.
