Procurement Specialist

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • We source and procure spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels.
  • We identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
  • We build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable support.

Order Processing & Coordination

  • We process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management teams efficiently.
  • We ensure accurate and timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
  • We coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to arrange timely delivery of goods to vessels at ports worldwide.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • We support the monitoring and control of procurement budgets.
  • We identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
  • We review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation for payment processing.
  • We ensure timely clearance of invoices in the system and follow up on pending payments.

Compliance & Documentation

  • We ensure all procurement activities are in compliance with maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
  • We maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • We assist during audits related to procurement and inventory management.

Technical Support & Communication

  • We collaborate closely with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
  • We provide alternative solutions when specific parts or equipment are unavailable.
  • We keep vessels updated on order status and delivery timelines.
