Database Administrator Position

We are looking for a skilled database administrator to support our team with database operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring performance, optimizing queries, deploying code, managing access, and analyzing databases.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support ongoing efforts and provide technical support for multiple database re-platforming efforts.
  • Review and implement data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  • Have working knowledge of Oracle 12c/Oracle 19c/Exadata added capabilities and functionality.
  • Strong programming skills using PL/SQL (package, procedures, functions, triggers) are a plus.
  • Proficient in performance tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  • Strong knowledge of database triggers, indexes, and partitioning.
  • Expertise in Oracle architecture.
  • Proficient in reading Query Execution Plans with the ability to evaluate and improve performance characteristics of SQL.
  • Manage database objects like tablespaces, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms.
  • Monitor database performance as it relates to memory usage, backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations.
  • Coordinate with data architects and analysts on schema building, table creation, function development, view creation, stored procedure development, and role management.
  • Coordinate with the automation team for job scheduling on multiple databases.
  • Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development and routine database administration.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of logical and physical DBA experience, including experience with Oracle Exadata.
  • Extensive working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing, including Golden Gate and Informatica ETL.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology and JIRA workflow processes.
  • Working experience with TOAD or Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated individuals who work well in teams are preferred.
