Software Development Lead Position

The position of Software Development Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping the software development process and ensuring its alignment with business objectives. This individual will engage in the development and configuration of software systems, applying their extensive knowledge of various technologies, methodologies, and tools to support clients and projects.

This person will guide their team through challenges, foster collaboration, and drive innovation in software development practices. They will be responsible for administering and configuring Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Compose and Capture tools, Scientific Notebooks, and LABOPS platforms to meet laboratory workflows and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include building, customizing, and maintaining LIMS modules, managing user accounts and permissions, troubleshooting and resolving issues, developing validation scripts, and participating in continuous improvement projects. Additionally, they will oversee implementation and support of Compose and Capture tools, facilitate setup of digital workflows, ensure smooth data capture, and provide training to end-users.

The ideal candidate will implement and maintain Scientific Notebooks as electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) or scientific data records platforms, customize SCNB templates and functionality, provide user support and training, and facilitate integration of SCNB with LIMS and other data repositories.

They will also support LABOPS platforms designed to automate laboratory operational workflows, configure LABOPS systems to align with lab operational strategies and compliance frameworks, monitor and analyze metrics for laboratory operations efficiency enhancements, and collaborate cross-functionally with lab management, IT, and QA to implement lab-wide best practices using LABOPS.

To excel in this role, the candidate must have a strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices, experience with software configuration management tools, and ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues. Proficiency in Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE Biovia, familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices, and minimum 5 years of experience in Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE ENOVIA Customization are required.

A degree equivalent to a Bachelor's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will work closely with scientists and IT teams to adapt processes as per experimental and compliance needs, providing user training and support on digital data capture best practices and tool utilization.

This person will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, driving innovation and delivering high-quality results. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical issues and provide solutions-oriented recommendations, are essential.
