Job Overview
Project Financial ManagerThis role is responsible for developing and managing project budgets, financial plans, and forecasts to optimize cash flow, revenue, and gross margin contribution. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage project invoicing, tax matters, bonds, guarantees, and financial accounting.
- Collaborate with the Central Cost Controller and Project Manager to ensure timely implementation of required mitigation actions.
- Participate in identifying opportunities and risks, driving and coordinating monthly project reviews jointly with the PM/Central Controller/PSCM.
- Review and share joint responsibility for all financial aspects of the project, including estimate at completion, cost-to-complete, forecasted revenues and cash flow, risk assessment, and alignment with other functions.
- Promote commercial awareness within the project team and provide commercial input to the project execution plan.
- Liaise with clients for invoice approval, payments, and compliance-related forms.
- Maintain an updated billing register capturing billings, approval status, payments, deductions, and follow-ups to collect amounts deducted.
- Monitor and control site expenses, reporting weekly project expenses in a specified format and reconciling SAP entries with invoices.
- Analyze actual vs. budget costs and revenue on the project, highlighting potential issues to the controller manager and project managers.
- Coordinate project actualisation activities at HO-defined frequency, gathering required data from the project team, preparing finance-related slides for actua presentation, and uploading actua in SAP post-approval.
- Review Kappa against budgeted costs and highlight cases where costs exceed the budget, attaching adequate documents with the Kappa.
- Share project slides for the monthly business review according to the timeline defined by the project team, keeping the controller manager informed.
- Conduct comprehensive checks on provisions to ensure they are accurate, complete, and in line with accounting rules and HO instructions.
- Perform monthly cash verification and surprise verification at least once a month, reporting results to the HO team.
- Lead and supervise compliance with Internal Financial Controls (IFC) as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
- Monitor ABG, PBG, and other guarantees, insurances to ensure timely renewal and reduction according to contractual conditions.
- Comply with tax regulations.
- Provide necessary support to the execution team and become a core finance support for all finance-related matters on site, anticipating issues and taking proactive actions to resolve them.
