Job Summary:

The Data Governance Lead position is a critical role in building and supporting the tools and technology required to enable an enterprise data governance program.

  • This key contributor will implement data governance programs using industry-leading tools like Collibra, Informatica, and Alation.
  • They will build and support solutions for data governance in popular tools to enable data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage of the enterprise's applications and data sources.
  • By developing standard business glossaries and data dictionaries, this individual will enable enterprise-level integration of metadata stores for business users to search and understand information.
  • They will also support implementing a solution for data cataloging with a data governance tool to establish clear data ownership along with access control management.
  • Built custom integrations between the data governance tool and various data stores to map and view data lineage.
  • Supported migrating from existing data sources like SharePoint, Excel, etc. to a data governance tool.
  • Implemented workflow management systems to optimize, improve, and automate data governance workflows for data stewards to increase output, eliminate repetition, and reduce errors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement data governance programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies.
