Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Backend Development Leader to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining back-end systems that support our maritime operations platform.

Your primary focus will be on collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and productivity.
  • Software Architecture: Contribute to the design and development of scalable, maintainable, and efficient software architecture.
  • Product Lifecycle: Own the product lifecycle from conceptualization through deployment.
  • Test-Driven Development: Implementing Test-Driven Development practices and writing comprehensive unit tests.
  • Code Reusability: Building reusable code and libraries to promote efficiency across projects.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimizing applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Security Compliance: Ensuring security best practices and data protection regulations compliance.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintaining technical documentation for all systems and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development, leadership, or management roles.
  • Programming Foundation: Strong programming foundation in Python.
  • Web Application Development: Experience in web application and API development.
  • Secure Software Development: Expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • Full Development Cycle: All phases of development - requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Source Code Management: Source Code Repository knowledge and Git experience.
  • Database Design: DB design and Architecture with focus on performance.
  • Caching Techniques: Caching techniques and utilities like Memcache / Redis.
  • Web/App Server Experience: Apache, Nginx, or any other web/app server experience.
  • Containerization: Containerization tool Docker experience.
  • Enterprise Deployment: Enterprise level deployment and scaling.
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Leadership, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
