Mathematics Research Specialist

We are seeking highly skilled researchers to collaborate on a project focused on fine-tuning and evaluating large language models (LLMs). The primary objective of this collaboration is to enhance the ability of LLMs to understand and solve complex mathematical problems. Examples of tasks that may be undertaken include:

  • Determine the number of symmetric matrices with specific properties.
  • Find subsets of a given set that satisfy certain conditions.
  • Identify distinct numbers with specific characteristics.

The tasks are designed to identify model weaknesses and improve training and evaluation workflows.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A strong academic background in mathematics or a related field.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to solve complex math problems with clear and structured reasoning.
  • Effective communication skills, enabling you to explain complex topics clearly and provide precise feedback.
  • Research independence, with the ability to work effectively in a remote research environment and contribute actively to team discussions.
  • Access to a reliable computer and internet setup to participate in remote assignments.

This position is open to candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field.
