The Dean – Faculty of Law role is a vital position at the heart of our institution.

Our client in the Higher Education sector seeks an exceptional leader to serve as the chief academic and administrative head for the faculty. This person will be responsible for advancing the mission of academic excellence, impactful research, and strong community engagement. They will guide faculty recruitment and development, ensure high-quality teaching and learning, strengthen research capacity, enhance student outcomes, and position the faculty as a leading destination for legal education in India.

This role requires a seasoned academic leader with a strong research background, deep knowledge of legal education, and proven success in building institutional reputation and industry linkages.

About the Role
  • Academic Leadership: The Dean will provide visionary leadership to establish a culture of academic excellence, integrity, and innovation.
  • Administrative Management: They will oversee budgets, staffing, facilities, and operational efficiency of the faculty.
  • Strategic Planning & Growth: The Dean will develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan, identify growth areas in legal education, and expand academic offerings in specialized domains.
  • Research Excellence: They will strengthen the research profile of the faculty by fostering funded research projects, legal clinics, and policy initiatives.
  • External Relations & Community Engagement: The Dean will represent the faculty to alumni, legal associations, government bodies, and corporate legal departments.
Requirements
  • Education: PhD in Law (or equivalent doctoral qualification) from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in legal academia with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated Success: Proven track record in strategic planning, academic program development, and faculty leadership.
  • Research Credentials: Strong research credentials with publications in reputable journals and demonstrated funding success.
