Progressive Die Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced die design engineer to create manufacturable stamped parts. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing and detailing components for new or revised dies.

  • Assist product engineers and die process engineers to conceptualize strip layout work necessary for manufacturing decisions.
  • Design and detail all components for new dies or revised dies to support the accurate fabrication of all pieces.
  • Supply accurate drawings and/or geometry to the internal tool shop or external tooling suppliers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop stamping die designs that meet quality expectations, lead times, and budget requirements.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects on time.
  3. Apply optimal design practices to ensure consistency, speed, and improved design quality.
  4. Participate in review meetings to discuss project progress and propose improvements.

Requirements:

  • Technical school completion such as Tool & Die Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Additional education in engineering graphics, CAD, or drafting courses or equivalent hands-on experience.

Work Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge of design, fabrication, building, and debug of progressive high-speed, close-tolerance stamping dies.
  • Minimum experience designing dies with 3D solid modeling software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSME or appropriate AAS degree.
  • Experience designing dies with Siemens NX Die Wizard CAD package.
