Senior Software Engineer Opportunity

Canonical is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Store team. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work on a large system of backend services that power the Snap Store and marketplaces.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated professional proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python. They will also have a broad technology base, with a preference for backend code and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing new features and enhancements from spec to production and ongoing operations at scale. They will also review code and technical designs produced by other engineers, discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Strong academic performance in Computer Science, STEM or a similar degree.
- Demonstrated professional proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python.
- Experience with Ubuntu as a development and deployment platform.
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, including effective data model design and query tuning.
- Passion for clean APIs, a bias towards shipping, and a belief in the importance of automated tests for higher velocity and reliability.
