Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Accounting to lead our accounting operations and drive financial management excellence. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, and leadership, with a proven track record of managing financial and government audits, and developing and implementing accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the management of the monthly/quarterly/yearly closing of the financial systems, ensuring timely execution and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  • Continual monitoring and assessment of analytical tools and reports, with a focus on systems and process enhancements supporting financial management.
  • Maintain and/or develop internal accounting controls, and communicate accounting policies and procedures as needed.
  • Work closely with the SAP IT team to adopt new ERP systems and improve business capabilities and processes related to accounting operations.
  • Direct and manage departmental staff through goal setting, guidance, and coaching, prioritizing and assigning departmental goals and projects.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the accounting department.
  • Execute the development and implementation of accounting functions, including financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Support expansion and establishment of new entities, and ensure compliance with USGAAP/IGAAP and internal policies.
  • Lead statutory, internal, cost, IFC, and special audits, ensuring all Compliance/Closure related to it.
  • Finalize annual financial statements and present to Senior Management.
  • Implement and reinforce ICFR and Teva group reporting policies and procedures.
  • Continuously improve processes through automation and simplification of existing processes.
  • Transfer pricing/unilateral advance pricing compliance and tax audit support in alignment with the Tax team.
  • Support the Tax function for direct and indirect tax assessments.
  • Lead and enhance internal processes to drive operational efficiency and ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and procedures.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement SOPs related to the finance function.
  • Budgeting/forecasting and variance analysis vs. actuals for the complete finance function.
  • Lead/support projects like legal entity restructuring, cash repatriation, GBS transition, etc.
  • Prepare/present Consolidated Reports at the India level of Finance/Non-Finance parameters.
  • Demonstrate leadership and training skills to further develop managers and analysts within the department.
  • Overall Review of the GBS finance activity related to PAT function for India.
  • Ensure Record keeping as per Teva/Income Tax policy and provide the same when required.
Requirements
  • CA/CPA with a minimum of 10-12 years of experience in leading accounting functions in a manufacturing industry, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • CS as an additional qualification will be preferred.
  • SAP implementation experience will be preferred.
  • 4-5 years of people management experience overseeing accounting and finance professionals and staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial and government audits and working with external auditors, and managing financial and managerial reporting, budget development, and analysis, accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
  • Experience in SAP, HFM, or any other consolidation ERP.
