Geospatial Data Specialist Role

The position of Geospatial Data Specialist is crucial for our organization, as it involves collecting and analyzing geospatial data to support informed decision-making.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team in the capacity of Geospatial Data Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and managing large datasets, including GIS data, satellite imagery, and other spatial data sources.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Management: Search, collect, process, and manage large datasets, including GIS data, satellite imagery, and other spatial data sources.
  • Validate and Ensure Accuracy: Validate and ensure the accuracy, quality, and completeness of spatial data.
  • ETL Operations: Perform ETL operations between GIS applications/database using Esri Desktop or Server.
  • GIS Analysis and Mapping: Conduct spatial analysis, map creation, and geospatial model development to aid various projects and initiatives.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through quality checks and resolution of data discrepancies using ArcGIS Data Reviewer.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers, analysts, and external partners, to comprehend data requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Image Analysis: Familiarity with image processing techniques.
  • Preferred ESRI Products Knowledge: Knowledgeable with various ESRI products - ArcGIS Enterprise, Image Analyst Extension, Data Reviewer Extension.
  • Effective Time Management: Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, research, and resolve issues proactively and provide recommendations to business partners, peers, and various levels of management.

Desired Skillset:

  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in RS, GIS, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with exceptional planning, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.
