Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our patent drafting and prosecution practice. This is a key leadership role where you will be responsible for managing a team of patent professionals, mentoring junior members, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patent Drafting & Prosecution:
  • Independently draft high-quality patent applications in major jurisdictions, including the US, Europe, and India.
  • Prepare and review responses to office actions from the relevant patent offices.
  • Ensure all work meets jurisdiction-specific legal and technical requirements.
Project & Team Management
  • Manage and guide a team of senior associates on drafting and prosecution assignments.
  • Review drafts prepared by team members, providing detailed feedback to improve quality.
  • Oversee project timelines, workload distribution, and delivery commitments.
Client Engagement
  • Collaborate with inventors, in-house counsel, and R&D teams to capture technical inventions.
  • Provide strategic advice on patentability, prosecution, and portfolio development.
  • Maintain strong client communication and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (preferred).
  • Law degree (desirable).
  • Patent agent qualification (must).
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution with a law firm or IP services company.
  • Hands-on experience in drafting patent applications and preparing responses to office actions for major jurisdictions.
  • Prior experience in managing patent professionals or leading projects.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of patent laws and prosecution practices across major jurisdictions.
    • Excellent technical and legal drafting skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage, mentor, and review work of junior team members.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Client-facing experience with global stakeholders.
