Role: Estimation Engineer

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for machined and fabricated components. This involves analyzing technical drawings and specifications to develop Bill of Quantities (BOQs). Additionally, the Estimation Engineer will coordinate with design, procurement, and sales teams to ensure project costing is accurate and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for complex projects involving machining and fabrication. This includes analyzing technical specifications and drawings to identify material requirements and develop BOQs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate project costing and pricing. The Estimation Engineer must engage in regular communication with these teams to guarantee successful project outcomes.
  • Engage in reverse engineering and estimation for new product developments. This requires a deep understanding of product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimize vendor pricing through negotiations. The Estimation Engineer must leverage their expertise to secure the best possible deals with vendors.
  • Maintain and update cost databases for bought-out items to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This includes ensuring data is up-to-date and easily accessible to team members.
  • Support RFQ/RFP responses and prepare techno-commercial proposals to win business. The Estimation Engineer must effectively communicate the value proposition of products or services to clients.

Qualifications include a Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing/machinery estimation, proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office, and familiarity with ERP systems.
