Senior Payables Manager Job Summary

The Senior Payables Manager will oversee and lead the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, team operations, process improvement, and compliance.

This role requires a strong leader to manage the payables team, develop and implement policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control. The successful candidate will also be responsible for reviewing and approving invoices, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining accurate records and reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process timely and accurate payments, invoices, and expense reports.
  • Develop and implement payables policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control.
  • Lead and manage the accounts payable team, including hiring, training, goal setting, and ongoing development.
  • Review and approve invoices; ensure adherence to company policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment disputes or queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and reconciliations; oversee month-end and year-end closing processes for payables.
  • Optimize payables processes, automation, and risk prevention controls.
  • Prepare and analyze payables metrics: aging, cash flow, forecasts, and performance.
  • Coordinate with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and timely payments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in payables processes, team leadership, and compliance management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
