As a key player in our Observability team, you'll be crucial in driving reliability goals. Your background in SRE or development and experience with improving reliability by adding Observability will be valuable assets to us. We're looking for passionate individuals who love learning, technology, and making things better.

Working closely with product development teams, Cloud Infrastructure, and other SRE teams, you'll use your generalist background to ensure observability and improve reliability. You must see the big picture and work collaboratively to solve hard multi-disciplinary problems. Technical expertise in cloud operations, software development lifecycle, and Observability tools will be highly regarded. We follow SRE principles like blameless postmortems and automation to constantly improve our knowledge and maintain a good quality of life.   • Enable fast-growing multi-disciplinary teams across multiple applications and locations by providing guidance and support.
  • Tackle complex development, automation, and business process problems and champion Cvent standards and best practices.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and resilience of products and processes through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with product development teams, Cloud Automation, and other SRE teams to identify and resolve observability gaps.
  • Identify recurring problems and anti-patterns in development, operational, and security processes and help respective teams build observability.
  • Develop and deploy automation that targets multiple on-premises and AWS regions.
  • Contribute to Open-Source projects.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills and track record working in distributed teams.
  • Passion for making things better for peers.
  • Experience managing AWS services/operational knowledge of managing applications in AWS via automation.
  • Fluent scripting languages like Typescript, Javascript, Python, Ruby, and Bash.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (preferably Agile).
  • Experience with Observability (Logging, Metrics, Tracing) and SLI/SLO.
  • Working with APM, monitoring, and logging tools (Datadog, New Relic, Splunk).
  • Good understanding of containerization concepts - docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshooting and responding to incidents; setting a standard for others to prevent issues in future.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform.
  • Experience managing 3-tier application stacks.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Experience with Server configuration through Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or equivalent.
  • Working experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Couchbase, Postgres etc.
  • Using APM data to troubleshoot and finding performance bottlenecks.
