Menswear Buying Team Lead Job Opportunity

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Menswear Merchandising Officer to lead our menswear buying team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in apparel merchandising and product management, with excellent analytical abilities and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic merchandise plans and policies to optimize procurement processes and drive business growth.
  • Lead and oversee the buying team to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing that align with business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions that support long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align buying activities with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and drive efficiency in the buying process to enhance profitability.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and maintain relationships to support successful partnerships.

Requirements:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in apparel merchandising and product management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (NIFT preferred).
  • Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven experience in vendor management.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills to manage a buying team successfully.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing strategies and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
