Financial Transformation Specialist

A leading insurance firm is seeking an experienced Financial Transformation Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the company's financial transformation program, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in testing and validation of financial processes. They will be responsible for developing and executing test cases for end-to-end financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing test cases for financial processes, including penny testing, subledger reconciliation, and cash lifecycle testing.
  • Validating integrations between policy administration systems, claims systems, and the finance subledger to ensure end-to-end process accuracy.
  • Ensuring IFRS/UK GAAP postings are accurate and accounting rules are correctly applied for premiums, claims, and reinsurance.
  • Performing data validation for high-volume insurance transactions and ensuring data integrity across multiple source systems.
  • Logging, tracking, and retesting defects in JIRA, collaborating with IT and finance teams to resolve issues quickly.

Essential qualifications include:

  • 3+ years' experience in finance testing within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Hands-on experience with penny testing, reconciliations, and cash management workflows.
  • Good understanding of insurance finance flows: premiums, claims, reinsurance, and bordereaux processing.
  • Knowledge of subledger posting logic, chart of accounts, and financial controls.
  • Strong Excel skills for reconciliation and data validation.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with Workday Financials, SAP, Oracle Financials, or other insurance finance platforms.
  • Familiarity with policy administration systems and claims systems.
  • ISTQB or similar testing certification.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or IT (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
