Job Title: Wind Resource Assessment Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Resource Assessment Engineer to join our team.

  • This is a critical role in our organization, responsible for conducting wind resource assessments and providing technical expertise to support the development of wind energy projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with experience in wind data analysis, operations, planning, or consulting.
  • The engineer will work closely with project managers to lead the execution of technical studies, provide input on project scheduling, deliverables, and quality management, and support on-the-job and classroom training efforts for less experienced team members.
">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Perform energy production estimates for wind farms using industry-standard techniques, including processing and cleaning on-site wind data, generating wind flow models, performing site-specific energy losses and uncertainty analysis, and understanding project constraints to optimize proposed wind farm production or cost of energy production.
  • Support project managers in the execution of projects, leading aspects of project execution, including data collection, engineering, financial, and technical analysis, maintaining project schedules, developing key project deliverables, and supporting the project manager in quality control of deliverables.
  • Develop efficient wind turbine arrays considering site constraints and energy production, and apply knowledge of standard engineering, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with power generation facilities, specifically wind generation.
">Qualifications:">
  • Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited program; Master's degree in the relevant field is an added advantage.
  • 4-5 years of experience associated with wind data analysis, operations, planning, or consulting, with project experience in wind generation, including project development and site selection, asset due diligence and acquisition support, independent engineer services, condition assessments, and cost and performance benchmarking, asset management, operations, maintenance, and engineering management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
