Procurement Strategist

The Procurement Strategist develops and implements procurement strategies to maximize cost savings, improve quality, and enhance delivery timelines. This involves identifying, evaluating, and establishing relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.

The ideal candidate possesses strong negotiation skills to secure the best value for the company. A thorough understanding of supplier performance and compliance is also essential.

The Procurement Strategist works closely with engineering and project teams to ensure a deep understanding of technical requirements for materials and equipment.

A critical component of this role is ensuring purchased materials meet engineering specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

The successful candidate will conduct market research to identify cost-effective alternatives and innovative materials, thereby enhancing the company's competitiveness.

Key responsibilities include analyzing procurement data and supplier performance to identify cost reduction opportunities, forecasting pricing trends and market fluctuations to mitigate financial risks, and optimizing supply chain processes to minimize delays and disruptions.

This position requires a proactive approach to ensure timely delivery of materials by coordinating with suppliers and logistics teams.

A high level of attention to detail is required to oversee international and domestic shipping, customs regulations, and import/export requirements.

Additionally, the Procurement Strategist must ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.

They will conduct risk assessments related to procurement, including supplier financial stability and geopolitical risks.

Effective contract management, dispute resolution, and warranty claims handling are also crucial components of this role.

Utilizing procurement software and ERP systems is necessary to streamline purchasing workflows and generate reports on procurement performance, supplier KPIs, and cost savings.
