Job Opportunity: Senior Interface Engine Developer

This role is designed for an experienced professional who can take on the challenges of developing and implementing complex healthcare interfaces.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement healthcare interfaces using leading interface engines like Corepoint, Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect), or Rhapsody to support new clinical workflows and business requirements.
  • Perform rigorous testing of interfaces to ensure data integrity, message routing accuracy, and system reliability by collaborating with clinical and IT teams.
  • Monitor interface performance and provide timely support for production issues, troubleshooting and resolving errors, message failures, and connectivity problems to minimize downtime.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for all interfaces, including design specifications, data maps, and operational procedures.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and the ability to write and execute SQL queries.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff.
Requirements

This position requires 3–5 years of experience in healthcare integration/interface development, strong knowledge of HL7 standards (v2.x, v3, FHIR, CCD), and experience with various communication protocols such as SFTP, MLLP, and web services (SOAP/REST).

Candidates should have hands-on expertise in at least one interface engine: Corepoint, Rhapsody, or Mirth. A good understanding of healthcare workflows, EHR data exchange, and interoperability concepts is also necessary.

Exposure to troubleshooting and debugging tools within interface engines is required, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
