Job Title: Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 8+ years

Job Type: Contract to hire

Notice Period: Immediate joiners

Mandatory Skills:

  • Azure Administration
  • MS-SQL Administration

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications
  • Provisioning, configuring, and managing Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Designing and implementing HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups
  • Planning and executing robust backup and restore operations
  • Monitoring database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store

Required qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL databases
  • Lead Admin experience with single-point responsibility for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities
  • Hands-on experience with managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network, and Security

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques, and familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI). Additionally, they should possess experience with large-scale complex database architecture with replication and DR, and strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).
