A cybersecurity professional plays a vital role in safeguarding an organization's digital assets.

As part of the vulnerability management team, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups to identify and remediate web application vulnerabilities. This involves working closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and technical experts to ensure that all aspects of web application security are addressed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Remediation of web application vulnerabilities through thorough analysis and effective mitigation strategies
  • Onboarding new web applications into our web-app vuln scan platform, ensuring seamless integration and accurate results
  • Maintaining the Vulnerability Management tools and infrastructures daily, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Scanning web applications and understanding the results to inform remediation efforts and reduce risk
  • Conducting regular scans of servers, protocols, middleware, and networks for vulnerabilities, providing actionable insights for remediation
  • Collaborating with developers and application owners to address vulnerabilities and minimize risk
  • Documenting vulnerability exceptions and escalating priority vulnerabilities that require timely attention
  • Supporting periodic web application penetration testing efforts, providing valuable feedback for improvement
  • Engaging with business personnel to articulate vulnerabilities and their associated risks, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability
  • Providing monthly metrics on the Vulnerability Management Program's effectiveness and success in reducing risk
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity
  • Strong background in Vulnerability Management, with expertise in web application security
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in web application vulnerability discovery, remediation, and scanning, utilizing industry-leading tools such as Nexpose, Nessus, Burp Suite, White Hat, and Nmap
  • Familiarity with Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) and Static Application Security Scanning (SAST), OWASP Top 10, and enterprise environments
  • Proven skills in incident response, vulnerability remediation, and cross-team collaboration
  • Knowledge of IT security policies, application/server/middleware security, and cloud vulnerability management
  • Experience maintaining and maturing a Vulnerability Management Program
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas effectively
Preferrable Requirements:
  • Experience with Rapid7 InsightAppSec (IAS) or equivalent platforms
