Job Title: Formulation Development Manager

Description:

The Formulation Development Manager will be responsible for the development of new products and optimization of existing formulations. This includes product lines such as Solid and Liquid Dosage forms (Tablets, Capsules, Solutions, Suspensions, Pellets, MUPS etc.) for regulated markets like US, Europe, and ROW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop R&D plans and experimental designs by applying Quality by Design (QBD) principles.
  • Lead the execution/development of new formulations by investigating API characteristics and viability, safety, and compatibility with other ingredients.
  • Identify resource requirements for projects, including materials, manpower, machine change parts, and assimilate literature information collected by project teams.
  • Effectively plan and coordinate lab scale-up/optimization and pilot batches to ensure strict adherence to lab GMP systems and practices.
  • Review lab experiment notebooks, prepare and review technology transfer documents, and liaise with technology transfer teams/prodution teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
  • Program for the optimization of existing product performance by researching API characteristics and finished products.
  • Evaluate stability protocols, monitor stability studies, and interpret results to advance further for product development activities.
  • Liaise with various departments, including project management, analytical development, supply chain, clinical, regulatory, and IP departments, to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare new departmental SOPs, manuals, and guidelines documents, and renew existing ones as required.
  • Monitor IQ, OQ, and PQ activities of new machines, and ensure proper functioning and maintenance of all equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure proper training of subordinates, technicians, and housekeeping personnel on various equipment, instruments, and systems.
  • Ensure proper storage and destruction of raw materials and finished goods, and maintain up-to-date RLD samples inventory.
  • Participate in departmental audits and ensure compliance with recommendations.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in technology, conceptual thinking, presentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications & Pre-Requisites:

  • Masters degree in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
  • Formulation development experience of Solid & Liquid Oral; preferred to have Pellets project experience.
