Job Description

As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for leading the development of scalable cloud-based data platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement end-to-end data architecture leveraging Snowflake and Matillion for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Architecture Design: Design and implement end-to-end data architecture using Snowflake and Matillion.
  • Data Modeling Standards: Define and maintain data modeling standards, data flows, and architecture best practices (dimensional, normalized, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Tool Evaluation: Lead evaluation and adoption of tools in the modern data stack, ensuring scalability and alignment with business goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define requirements and create robust data pipelines.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure data security, access controls, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Snowflake performance via clustering, caching, query tuning, and cost management.
  • Data Integration: Oversee data integration from APIs, databases, flat files, and third-party platforms.
  • Data Quality and Metadata Management: Establish data quality and metadata management practices.
  • Matillion Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise in Matillion orchestration, reusable job frameworks, and performance optimization.

Requirements

  • Cloud-Based Data Platforms: Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms.
  • Snowflake and Matillion: Proficiency in Snowflake and Matillion, including data modeling, data ingestion, and data transformation.
  • Big Data Technologies: Knowledge of big data technologies, including Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
  • Programming Languages: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
