Job Title: Application Performance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced application performance specialist to take on this challenging role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, with experience in setting up and configuring these systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot user issues and perform root cause analysis to identify recurring problems and ensure long-term fixes.
  • Set up alarming for Dynatrace and Splunk for different applications, defining and fine-tuning alerts to minimize false positives.
  • Integrate Dynatrace alerts with incident management tooling to streamline issue resolution.
  • Analyse and optimize application code to improve error handling and alerting.
  • Develop a strong understanding of synthetic monitoring and alarm management principles.
  • Utilize ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools to manage incidents and service requests.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with diverse teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Provide support and training to application teams with varying levels of technical expertise.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in operational application management and monitoring.
  • Proven expertise in setting up and configuring Dynatrace and other monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and principles, with experience in a similar liaison role between application and platform teams.
