Human Resources Manager Job Overview

The Human Resources Manager role is a crucial position within an organization, responsible for leading the recruitment and hiring process, managing employee payroll, administering benefits programs, and overseeing HRIS administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit top talent by working closely with stakeholders to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates through various channels.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Administer accurate employee compensation, ensuring timely and correct distribution of paychecks.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, statutory deductions, and other compensation components.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement employee training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Manage performance evaluations, working with appraisers to set goals, provide feedback, and conduct calibration.
  • Administer HRIS for employee data/records, maintaining accurate attendance records, and updating HR policies.
  • Oversee day-to-day HR functions, responding to employee inquiries, and resolving HR-related issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or relevant discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in HR generalist roles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Meticulous and organized.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working experience in a ship management company advantageous.
