Chief Investment Officer Role

The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned professional with experience in deal evaluation, preferably as an ex-founder/operator or investor. They should have a strong grasp of unit economics, cohort/retention, marketplaces, SaaS metrics, working-capital cycles, and path to profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sourcing & Thesis: The CIO will be responsible for building and maintaining a quality pipeline of deals across various stages, developing and refreshing thematic theses, leveraging their network to find non-obvious opportunities, and representing the organization at ecosystem events.
  2. Evaluation & IC Prep: They will run fast screens and deep dives on potential investments, build and audit financial models, draft crisp investment memos, and prepare materials for an efficient Investment Committee cadence.
  3. Diligence Leadership (LDD/FDD/Tech/Commercial): The CIO will define diligence scope, select/manage external partners, coordinate data-room requests, synthesize findings into go/no-go recommendations, and activate the advisor bench to help portfolio founders win.
  4. Transaction Execution: They will support term sheet design, coordinate with counsel on definitive docs, ensure clean close checklists, and maintain accurate closing files.
  5. Portfolio Support & Follow-ons: The CIO will onboard each company into the advisor network, drive targeted help, track portfolio health, prepare follow-on cases, and manage co-investor communications.
Requirements:
  • Background: 3-5 years of experience in deal evaluation, preferably as an ex-founder/operator or investor.
  • Networked: Credible access across founders, angels, bankers, and operators, especially within India (Hyderabad a plus).
  • Analytical: Strong grasp of unit economics, cohort/retention, marketplaces, SaaS metrics, working-capital cycles, and path to profitability.
  • Diligence-ready: Hands-on with LDD/FDD scopes, ability to frame key questions and pressure-test assumptions.
  • Execution: Structured writer, fast modeler, and organized operator.
  • Style: Hustle, bias to action, low-ego; founder-friendly communicator with high empathy.

  • IC memos that enable decisions within 2-3 weeks from first call (deal-dependent).
