Job Opportunity: Senior Credit Director

We are a leading player in the financial sector, specializing in innovative supply chain financing solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises.

About the Role:

The Senior Credit Director will lead our credit risk management, underwriting, and portfolio analysis functions, developing and executing a comprehensive credit strategy to drive business growth while ensuring prudent lending practices.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement effective credit policies, frameworks, and processes for SME/MSME lending and supply chain financing, aligning with our business objectives.
  2. Oversee the credit appraisal and underwriting function, evaluating borrower risk, conducting financial due diligence, and assessing creditworthiness.
  3. Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency rates, and develop early warning systems to mitigate potential risks.
  4. Collaborate closely with our business, risk, and operations teams to balance growth ambitions with sound credit practices.
  5. Present credit proposals and portfolio performance updates to senior management and regulators as required.
  6. BUILD and mentor a high-performing credit team capable of handling increasing volumes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 8–15 years of experience in credit risk/underwriting, preferably in the NBFC/fintech/banking sectors with strong SME/MSME exposure.
  • Detailed understanding of supply chain finance, bill discounting, invoice financing, and related credit products.
  • Proven ability to establish credit frameworks from scratch and manage large loan portfolios effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory norms, compliance requirements, and RBI guidelines for NBFCs.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • CA/MBA/FRM or equivalent qualification preferred.
