Job Title: Merchandiser

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Garment Merchant to oversee the end-to-end merchandising process from order inquiry to final shipment.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of garment manufacturing, production timelines, buyer communication, and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between buyers and internal teams (production, design, quality, etc.)
  • Understand buyer requirements, develop samples, and ensure timely approvals
  • Prepare and manage Time and Action (TNA) calendars for each order
  • Follow up on raw material sourcing, production schedules, and quality parameters
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of trims and fabrics
  • Monitor order status, production progress, and delivery timelines to avoid delays
  • Prepare costing sheets and negotiate prices with buyers and suppliers
  • Manage buyer communications regarding order updates, changes, and queries
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, pricing, and buyer expectations
  • Maintain all merchandising records, reports, and documentation accurately
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and buyer compliance requirements

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), and familiarity with ERP/MIS systems
  • Knowledge of fabric types, trims, washes, and garment construction
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
