Technical Specialist

About This Role:

We're seeking an experienced technical specialist to lead the implementation, customization, and support of order management solutions for clients.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation and customization of order management systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into system configurations and customizations.
• Configure and customize order management systems to meet specific client needs, including menu layouts, pricing, promotions, and integrations with other systems.
• Conduct system testing and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and functionality of order management solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software, providing timely and effective support to clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure seamless integration with other systems and processes.
• Provide training and support to end-users on order management functionality, ensuring smooth adoption and utilization of the system.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in point of sale technology, providing recommendations for system enhancements and improvements.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of documentation related to order management and custom configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring successful implementation and client satisfaction.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Order Management.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in custom database extensions, user exits, agents, and building Web Services.
• Minimum 2 years development experience in XML and DOM parser.
• Minimum 5 years development experience in building web applications.
• Experience building Stored Procedures and SQL functions.
• Experience with distributed version control systems like GIT.
• Experience with system integrations using JMS and web services (SOAP).
• Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira.
• Experience and understanding of application performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written forms.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or C++ for system customizations and integrations.
• Understanding of retail industry processes and point of sale operations.
• Familiarity with hardware components and peripherals used in point-of-sale systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

• Domain knowledge of order management and store systems.
• Experience with IBM Sterling, Java, JEE, JMS, HTML/CSS, WebLogic 10, Oracle 11 in Retail software.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of testing enhancement.
• Knowledge of IBM Retail Integration Framework (RIF) for system integrations.
• Familiarity with WebLogic Application Server for deployment and management of POS solutions.
• Understanding of PCI compliance and security standards for point-of-sale systems.
