Job Title: GL Staff Accountant

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Prepare monthly journal entries including cash, payroll, benefits, prepaid expenses, revenue, and various accruals.

  • Independently book journals (standard and non-standard) and have expertise in selecting account codes. Data entry alone is insufficient; you should be aware of the chart of accounts.

  • Understand and record supporting documentation for all journal entries.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and have a deep understanding of all balance sheet accounts, preferably using the Blackline tool.

  • Have a good understanding of BRS and prepare bank statement reconciliation.

  • Be experienced in month-end close activities.

  • Conduct trial balance detailed reviews, analysis, and interpretation of movements between accounts. Review monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheets, and update commentary for variances.

  • Identify glitches or adverse balances that require reclassifying journal entries.

  • Perform management accounting review various reports, assist in forecasting, actual comparison, and support issuance of financial statements.

  • Have experience with lease accounts under US GAAP and statement of cash flow exposure.

  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (journal entries, reconciliation schedules, variance reporting, month-end closing, etc.).

  • Assist in issuing all monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.

  • Comply with US GAAP and local GAAP regarding accounting interpretations and applications.

  • Perform analytical reviews of financial statement numbers.

  • Understand VAT returns and filing requirements in various countries. Prepare monthly/quarterly VAT reporting.

  • Support internal audit, SOX testing documentation, and other assigned projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • GL accountant with 3-5 years of experience in R2R preferably.

  • Previous responsibility for end-to-end GL and reporting.

  • Clear understanding of all financial modules.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in English language (verbal and written).

  • Strong computer skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
