Senior SQL Server Database Specialist

We are seeking a skilled SQL Server administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration group, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability and performance of our enterprise SQL Server databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Installation and Maintenance
- Install, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server databases with minimal disruption to operations.
- Monitor and apply patches and CUs as needed.
- Use SSMS, Profiler, and AWS Compute Optimizer to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Configure alerts and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and document disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Ensure regular testing and compliance with security protocols.
- Support audits and respond to SQL-related support tickets per SLA.
- Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for SQL infrastructure improvements.
Requirements:
- Experience
- 5+ years of experience administering large numbers of Microsoft SQL Servers in enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with centralized management tools like SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Profiler, and monitoring tools (e.g., AWS Compute Optimizer).
- Experience with backup/recovery strategies, patch management, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of database security, compliance, and audit readiness.
- AWS certification or demonstrated knowledge of AWS services relevant to SQL Server hosting and monitoring.
