AI/ML Backend Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Azure AI/ML Developer to join our team. As an Azure AI/ML Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust backend software solutions using Python, with a strong focus on AI/ML applications.

You will also develop and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs using FastAPI or equivalent frameworks, often serving AI-powered features. Additionally, you will build responsive and intuitive frontend user interfaces using React to visualize and interact with complex AI models and data.

Our ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Azure cloud platform (or similar) services, preferably including AI/ML services. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to tackle complex challenges independently, especially in areas like AI model integration and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and implement robust backend software solutions primarily using Python, with a strong focus on AI/ML applications.
• API Development: Develop and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs using FastAPI or equivalent frameworks, often serving AI-powered features.
• Frontend Development: Build responsive and intuitive frontend user interfaces using React to visualize and interact with complex AI models and data.
• Cloud Platform: Utilize the Azure cloud platform (or similar) for application development and deployment, demonstrating a willingness to explore and master new cloud and AI/ML specific cloud services.
• Generative AI Solutions: Architect and implement Generative AI solutions, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, to enhance model capabilities and provide context-aware responses.
• Large Language Models: Work with and integrate various Large Language Models (LLMs), exploring fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and optimal model selection.
• Agentic AI Workflows: Develop and orchestrate Agentic AI workflows using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar AI orchestration tools.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including AI Researchers and Data Scientists, to translate cutting-edge research into impactful, deployable solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape, bringing new ideas and approaches to the team.
• Knowledge Management: Actively contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement in AI-driven development.
• Version Control: Maintain strong knowledge of Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.

Qualifications:

• Curiosity and Continuous Learning: Intellectual curiosity and a strong drive for continuous learning and self-improvement, particularly in the AI/ML domain.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to tackle complex challenges independently, especially in areas like AI model integration and optimization.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience in developing AI/ML applications.
• Frontend Development: Hands-on experience with React for frontend development.
• Cloud Platform: Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platform (or similar) services, ideally including AI/ML services.
• API Development: In-depth knowledge of API development, preferably with FastAPI.
• Generative AI Concepts: Demonstrated experience or strong theoretical understanding of Generative AI concepts, LLMs, and their applications.
• Retrieval Augmented Generation: Familiarity with or direct experience in building RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems.
• Agentic AI Frameworks: Experience with or keen interest in Agentic AI and frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar AI orchestration tools.
• Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and knowledge sharing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Independent Work: Ability to work both independently, taking ownership of tasks, and as an integral part of a collaborative team.
• Coding Competitions: Participation in Hackathons/Coding competitions, especially those focused on AI/ML, is a significant plus, demonstrating initiative and practical problem-solving.
• Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with testing frameworks and methodologies, including those specific to AI/ML model evaluation.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
• DevOps and Cloud-Native Development: Knowledge of DevOps and cloud-native development (Docker, Kubernetes), particularly in the context of deploying AI/ML models, is a strong plus.
