Job Description:

We are a leading player in the renewable energy sector, with a portfolio of projects spanning wind, solar, and hybrid power solutions. As a Project Development Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing land acquisition activities for our wind projects. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify suitable developers/aggregators, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, assessing risks, and securing lands within targeted timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project development activities by providing land acquisition expertise and collaborating with various departments.
  • Identify and engage suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure compliance with statutes and regulations related to land, forest, and other approvals.
  • Assess and mitigate land acquisition risks.
  • Lead legal due diligence and documentation to ensure clear title of potential land before acquisition.
  • Participate in drafting and finalizing agreements for land acquisition.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, project management, legal, and finance teams to facilitate seamless land acquisition.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Interact with local agencies and stakeholders to facilitate smooth land acquisition and usage for wind energy projects.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition across pan-India locations.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders for successful project implementation.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in land acquisition involving revenue/private/forest land exploration, valuation reports, and negotiation.
  • Minimum 12 years of hands-on experience in land procurement/acquisition for wind and/or solar projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy and land acquisition.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc., for renewable power projects.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to execute land procurement targets, plans, and project development activities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges in land acquisition and project development.
