Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Role Summary:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for acquiring technical spare parts and services for vessels.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing relationships with Superintendents to ensure prompt supply of technical spare parts or Ship repair jobs or annual services.
Purchasing and Logistics Activities:

Procurement activities will involve handling purchasing tasks as well as coordinating logistics to deliver the spares to the vessels.

  • Issuing enquiries/requisitions to suppliers worldwide for quotations of annual/bi-annual/5 yearly/10 yearly services of Navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections & hull cleaning, supply of technical spare parts and anodes bulk purchase, etc.
  • Coordinating with vessels on any information required pertaining to requisitions.
  • Following up with quotations from suppliers.
  • Preparing purchase order and delivery order/proforma invoices/packing list, etc.
  • Assisting in logistics arrangement (air freight/sea freight/land transport/sea transport).
  • Coordinating with agents and ships for supply of spare parts and repair services to vessels at convenient ports.
  • Processing invoices – verifying vendor invoices against quotations and ensuring invoices are processed within the credit term period.
  • Document filing/printing of Invoices.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Must have experience in spares stores services all technical purchasing
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills required
