Head of Property Treaty Position

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our underwriting function for the Property Treaty in India and the subcontinent. The key responsibilities will include developing and implementing product strategies for the Property Treaty business unit, ensuring underwriting quality and excellence within the underwriting community.

This role involves managerial responsibility for a team handling a portfolio of property assets. You will report directly to the Chief Executive India and be based in Mumbai. This position forms part of the executive committee, management committee, and underwriting committee.

  • Develop and implement strategies for the underwriting business
  • Ensure alignment of strategies and market client strategies
  • Proactively support client management by exploring new business fields and helping to grow the portfolio beyond the existing book

You will also drive Munich Re's perception in the markets as an innovative company that leads opinion on both new and known issues and pro-actively offers clients targeted and bespoke solutions. This includes conducting negotiations with clients, clearly explaining complex technical concepts, and promoting an open feedback culture and a challenging supportive and rewarding work environment for team members.

Key requirements for this role include comprehensive multi-year underwriting experience, ideally including non-traditional business fields, track record in development of innovative products transactions and services, and international working experience.

Strong leadership and management skills, ability to work in and lead intercultural teams of highly qualified professionals, being curious and eager to take on responsibility, and great interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position.
