Key Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill this Senior Associate position in our Indirect Tax Litigation department.

This role involves handling tax matters, preparing submissions, and representing clients in appeals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit tax returns, replies to notices, and appeals to tax authorities
  • Assist clients in responding to department inquiries, investigations, and audits
  • Represent clients in hearings with tax officers
  • Prepare and file tax appeals at the Joint Commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunal levels

Client Service Delivery/Execution:

  • Identify and discuss technical issues with clients while ensuring firm risk management
  • Execute work on multiple client bases, assuming near-independent responsibility for smaller clients

Developing Commercial Acumen:

  • Stay abreast of firm-wide activities and general business trends
  • Apply knowledge to deliver solutions to clients and contribute to the firm's growth

Networking & Identification of Opportunities:

  • Identify new opportunities for existing clients and communicate with seniors
  • Network internally to gain understanding of issues impacting clients

Requirements:

  • Law Graduate from a recognized Law School with a strong academic record
  • 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in Indirect Tax, preferably GST, Customs, etc.

Successful candidates will have excellent communication and drafting skills, strong analytical and researching skills, and be proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented. Our ideal candidate is able to stay up-to-date with industry developments and provide expert advice to clients.
