Job Title: Tax Advisory Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tax Advisory Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert advice on tax-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on structuring deals from a tax perspective, considering FEMA, domestic tax law, DTAAs, stamp duty, and other related laws.
  • Draft and review deal documents, including term sheets, loan agreements, SPAs, disclosures, BTA, merger scheme, reps, and warranties.
  • Handhold clients in conceptualizing deals, focusing on India entry/exit strategy, favorable holding jurisdiction, tax efficiency, and commercial rationale.
  • Advisory services on possible structuring through IFSC Gift City.
  • Front-end liaison with stakeholders, including AD Banker.
  • Conduct health checks and prepare due diligence reports.
International Tax and FEMA Advisory
  • Provide advisory services on international tax issues, including PE, profit attribution, business connection, expat tax, ESOPs, indirect transfer, POEM, capital repatriation, royalty, FTS, broadcasting rights, and tax-transparent entities.
  • Effectively analyze tax rates for Indian promoter-held groups with 190+ entities.
  • Offer advisory services on FEMA and assist with compounding applications.
  • Support lower withholding applications, condonation applications, assessments, appeals, and engage with Senior Counsels for synopsis preparation and briefing.
