Buying Specialist

A Buying Specialist in a retail environment will be responsible for overseeing the buying process, sourcing products, and developing vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely delivery of samples by vendors.
  • Set standards for Quality of Merchandise with QA.
  • Monitor Competitor's activities.
  • Identify and develop vendors.
  • Negotiate Range merchandise effectively.
  • Presents and packages products.
  • Updates the front-end on key product benefits.
  • Assists Buyers with budget and margin targets, fashion range planning, and building.
  • Maximizes current sourcing channels and identifies new opportunities.
  • Negotiates with the supply base to ensure best costs and margins are achieved.
  • Collaborates with Merchandising; manages stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Buying or related role.
  • Product knowledge and effective presentation skills.
  • Sound understanding of costings.
