Process Director Job Description

A seasoned Process Director is required to lead our team in Chemical Engineering Discipline projects. With a minimum of 18 to 20 years of experience in Process Departments of consultancy organizations or technical services departments of Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Lifesciences, you will possess expertise in carrying out basic and detailed engineering work.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of the following areas:

  • Process Calculations: Heat & mass balance, Utility sizing for API, OSD and Biotech Projects.
  • Equipment Data Sheets: Preparation of Pharma Process Equipment data sheets.
  • Piping Design: Line sizing, relief load & PSV calculation.
  • Simulation Software: Exposure to simulation software's such as HYSYS, ASPEN.
  • Process Diagrams: Preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Design Review: Reviewing all aspects of design and construction for consistency and safety, including leading Hazop and PHA Reviews.
  • Engineering Calculations: Thermal rating of heat exchangers, and hydraulics.

You will also be responsible for Capacity Mapping of Biotech Projects using Schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout Design: Should have a strong knowledge on layout designing of API, OSD, Sterile and Biotech Projects.
  • Area Classification: Should possess sound knowledge on Area classification and man material flow concepts.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Should be well aware of regulatory requirements of USFDA, MHRA, and WHO etc.
  • Equipment Selection: Should possess a sound knowledge on equipment selection criteria like Fermentation, Bioreactors, TFF, Chromatography, Filling Lines, etc.

This role involves working closely with discipline and project personnel to ensure reliable statistical information on project performance. You will improve productivity by reducing rework and errors, and investigate systems and methods to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Your Key Objectives:

  1. Review Technical Requirements: Review technical requirements of client's specifications and ensure that agreement is reached on the basis of design.
  2. Investigate Systems: Investigate, analyze and implement systems, and methods to improve efficiency and accuracy.

You will maintain contact with other disciplines/groups to ensure proper interchange of information, documents, and interface definitions.
