Biocon is seeking a skilled Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager to lead our demand planning efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive business growth through demand planning and supply chain optimization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain bottoms-up forecasts to ensure accurate demand planning and alignment with sales and revenue goals.
  • Prepare and drive the monthly sales plan, ensuring effective material allocation for customers based on demand priorities and production capacity.
  • Manage quarterly revenue plans and capacity mapping by collaborating with sales, marketing, and finance teams.
  • Lead weekly sales review meetings to assess progress against plans, recalibrate forecasts, address challenges, and align cross-functional efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Business Leads, SCM, Production, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory teams, to ensure seamless integration of demand plans with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Identify risks in demand-supply alignment and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Analyze non-moving inventory and partner with commercial teams to unlock new business opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve variances in demand forecasts & actuals to drive data-backed decisions.
  • Lead periodic reviews of budget vs. actual performance, presenting insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop dashboards and tools using Excel/Power BI to enhance forecast accuracy and decision-making capabilities.
  • Continuously improve demand planning processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Pharma /B.Tech with MBA in SCM/Operations Management from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institute
  • 4 to 5 years of experience in demand planning, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • A proactive mindset with strong knack for numbers, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, managing multiple priorities with high energy and attention to detail
  • Certification in supply chain or demand planning, such as APICS CPIM or CSCP, is highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders
