Network Administrator Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to design, implement, and maintain computer networks.

This entails planning and configuring local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and the Internet.

  • Ensure network security and integrity through firewalls, access control lists, and encryption methods.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement and manage network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and FTP.
  • Provide technical support and training to other IT staff on network-related issues.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Cisco Routing & Switching with OSPF & BGP
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto or similar)
  • Load Balancers (A10 or F5)
  • Wireless (Meraki or similar)
  • DDI (Infoblox or similar)
  • SDWAN (VeloCloud or Cisco)
  • NAC (Cisco ISE)

A strong candidate will have 6-12 years of experience in network administration and be familiar with industry-standard technologies and best practices.
