Cloud Infrastructure Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and meets the needs of our customers.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Professional, you will work closely with our engineering team to understand our platform, manage and maintain it, and support our private cloud customers. You will also be responsible for monitoring cloud infrastructure performance and resolving technical issues promptly.

  • You will participate in Follow the Sun Support (FTSS) and be on call during weekends and public holidays for operational issues or project implementation.
  • You will automate, implement, administer, and maintain our cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, backups/restores, upgrades, and monitoring.
  • You will liaise with vendors, internal business units, and internal customers for problem resolution and best practices.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in supporting private cloud infrastructure based on VMware platform.
  • A strong understanding of infrastructure platform automation technology products like VMware vRealize Suite and VMware Cloud Foundation.
  • Experience working with Linux/Windows systems, with configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of DevOps technologies, cloud-based provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • The ability to come up with Bash or PowerShell scripts to automate repeatable processes.
  • Experience using tools like Ansible, Hashicorp Vault, will be an added advantage.
  • An understanding of infrastructure as code.
  • Good understanding of network fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of cloud security.
