IMS Database Management Specialist

The IMS DB Application Database Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management and optimization of IMS databases to support enterprise applications.
This position is responsible for maintaining the availability, integrity, and security of critical data used by enterprise applications. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing IMS databases, performing maintenance and performance tuning, ensuring data availability and integrity, and managing database security protocols.
- Design and implement IMS databases with optimal configuration for high-performance and scalability.
- Maintain and tune database performance to ensure efficient data processing and query execution.
- Ensure data availability and integrity through regular backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Manage database security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and protect sensitive data.
The ideal candidate will have relevant educational background in Computer Science or related field, proficiency in IMS database management, experience with performance tuning and maintenance, and strong understanding of data security practices.
Preferred skills include familiarity with mainframe environments and knowledge of enterprise application data requirements.
