Job Overview

As a key member of our technical team, we are seeking an experienced and skilled VDI Support Specialist to provide exceptional support and maintenance for the VMware Horizon VDI platform.

  • Resolve end-user VDI issues, maintain golden images, deploy new desktop pools, and collaborate with application teams to ensure seamless virtual desktop functionality.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to optimize performance, usability, and security of client's virtual desktop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing Level 1–3 support for Horizon VDI user issues, including session performance, access, printing, and profile-related incidents.
  • Maintaining and updating golden images for various user groups, including application packaging, patching, and configuration.
  • Validating and troubleshooting application functionality within VDI sessions in partnership with application owners.
  • Creating and managing desktop pools in Horizon Administrator/Console, including both persistent and non-persistent configurations.
  • Performing root cause analysis for recurring issues and implementing permanent fixes.
  • Maintaining user entitlement mappings and access to appropriate VDI pools.
  • Monitoring system health and generating reports on performance, usage, and capacity.
  • Testing and implementing updates, patches, and version upgrades to Horizon components and base images.
  • Collaborating with the Infrastructure team on escalations related to networking, storage, or host-level issues.
  • Documenting standard operating procedures, troubleshooting steps, and FAQs for internal knowledgebase.
  • Coordinating UAT testing for new images or configurations with business stakeholders.
  • Participating in change management and implementation planning for VDI-related initiatives.
  • Supporting onboarding and training for new users accessing the VDI environment.

  • Experience with VMware Horizon and related technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (not applicable).
