Magellan Aerospace Limited Seeks Skilled Cost Engineer

We are excited to offer a challenging position for a skilled Cost Engineer – Sourcing/Projects at Magellan Aerospace Limited in Bangalore. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering, Business Development, SCM & Costing team.

About the Role:

The Cost Engineer – Sourcing/Projects will be responsible for defining project scope, time period, phases to be estimated, communication channels, and establishing any boundaries for estimates or project requirements.

  • Provide detailed documentation for each cost element, indicating sources of data, assumptions used, and other methodology or analysis.
  • Obtain quotations for raw materials, treatment, and bought parts from customer-approved sources.
  • Negotiate with suppliers by preparing quote analysis and obtaining best quotes.
  • Ensure all expected costs have been properly presented to customers for review/approval/acceptance of the estimate.
  • Finalize the cost estimate and maintain all files and data related to the project.
  • Prepare cost data for proposals and contract negotiations.
  • FOLLOW ESTIMATING LIFE CYCLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRESCRIBED STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES.
  • Establish quote priorities based on evaluation and analysis of overall opportunities.
  • Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports.

Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Sector, preferably in Aerospace.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in costing of CNC machining, preferably in the Aerospace Industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of various metal cutting processes like turning, milling, drilling, boring, slitting, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 and customer requirements (Boeing and Airbus, PWC & Collins Aerospace).
  • Extensive knowledge of Aerospace Manufacturing.
  • Experience in handling teams.
