Job Summary

Magellan Aerospace Limited is seeking a skilled Aerospace Cost Estimator - Sourcing/Projects to join its team. As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering department, you will be responsible for estimating costs for various projects and ensuring that all costs are properly presented to customers for review and approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, time period, and phases to be estimated, and establish communication channels and boundaries for estimates or project requirements.
  • Provide documentation for each cost element, indicating sources of data, assumptions used, and any other methodology or analysis.
  • Obtain quotations for raw materials, treatment, and bought parts from customer-approved sources.
  • Negotiate with suppliers by preparing quote analysis and obtaining the best quote.
  • Ensure that all expected costs have been properly presented to customers for review, approval, and acceptance of the estimate.
  • Finalize the cost estimate, maintain all files and data related to the project, and prepare cost data for proposals and contract negotiations.
  • Follow the estimating life-cycle in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Establish quote priorities based on evaluation and analysis of overall opportunities.
  • Develop and implement requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports, and perform performance monitoring and control functions for specific projects.

Requirements

  • Educational qualification: BBA/MBA in Manufacturing sector preferable Aerospace.
  • Years of experience (Min. & Max.): Minimum 03-04 years in costing of CNC machining preferably in Aerospace Industry.
  • Knowledge and experience of various metal cutting processes, including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and slitting.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, i.e., ASME Y14.5, and customer requirements, preferably Boeing and Airbus, PWC, and Collins Aerospace.
  • Extensive knowledge of Aerospace Manufacturing.
  • Experience in handling teams.
